Two art shows, two dates, two week-end in November! If the dates for one art show do not work for you, you can come to the other!
I was counting the total number of paintings I have completed since February of this year and to this day I have painted 66 paintings! Fuelling this massive production is a specialized series of workshops by Jean Pederson called the 4X4 Master Class. We meet 4 times a year for 4 days to receive expert instruction and guidance in pursuing our artistic identity. To make it brief that means many, many paintings. Nearing the end of this year with the last workshop in December, I marvel at not only the number of paintings accomplished but the shifts in my art as I strive to come closer to painting with authenticity.
I have completed a series of still-life, most of them colorful and fun fruit that have captured the essence of summer. Festive pears, apples with attitude, juicy strawberries, ripe cherries and the appealing pomegranate have all been painted with a palette knife on wood panel. A departure from my normal presentation, these are all on the small side with the smallest at 6″x8″ and the largest 11″x14″.
I am pleased to showcase this body of work at:
